Tooting Bathroom Installation & Fitting

Tooting is one of Burgess Bathroom’s newest catchment areas, but is quickly becoming one of our biggest. The influx of new families and young professionals to the area has led to high demand for refurbished bathrooms and is keeping our designers and bathroom fitters very busy. If you are based in Tooting and looking for a new bathroom then give us a call today to chat through your project.

It’s great transport connections and great mix of housing stock make it a real hot spot for London. Popular with young professionals and families, our Tooting bathroom installations here tend to be relatively simple – to deliver me an excellent quality, reasonably priced bathroom and quickly. The influx of property developers into the area, attracted by its increasing popularity mean we are regularly asked to install bathrooms on multi-unit developments.

Top 3 Popular Tooting Bathroom Styles

  1. Combined Bathroom/WC’s – Tooting’s abundance of Victorian and Georgian houses mean that there are still a lot of properties with their original layouts. We regularly get clients asking us to convert their bathroom and separate WC’s into one much larger, purposeful bathroom. The style of properties means the separating wall usually isn’t structural, so it is a relatively easy job to complete, that can transform the bathroom both functionally and aesthetically.
  2. Under Stair Cloak Rooms – Many of our clients are trying to introduce downstairs bathrooms without eating into valuable living space. As such our bathroom fitters are often asked to introduce small cloak rooms and sometimes even shower rooms into the space under the stairs, providing a valuable extra bathroom in an otherwise often unused space.
  3. Family Refreshers – Popular with families, we are often asked to refresh tired family bathrooms that have had great family use. Often our clients are looking to remove the old fashioned boxing and for innovative space saving designs to help house their ever growing family. Built in units, alcoves and clever cabinetry are among our regular requests here.

Tooting Property Style & History

Tooting’s abundance of green space combined with a lively high street make it a popular location young professionals and family. Slightly quieter than neigbouring Balham it a favourite for those looking for more space. Tooting’s famous Lido is the largest of its kind in the UK.

As was the case with Balham, Tooting developed as a settlement owing to its proximity to the old coach route out of London to the South and West of the UK. The area remained very rural until the late 19th century when the arrival of the railway led to an influx of residents and development. Country villas were largely demolished to make way for much denser, Victorian style streets. There are still some rare examples of the early Georgian development on Upper Tooting Road and clusters of the Arts and Crafts style homes on Nightingale Lane. However, the bulk of Tooting’s housing comprises of Victorian and Edwardian terraces, 1920s cottages and purpose built maisonettes.
